I was also at the Elders Ball in August, 2006. It was my 1st visit & I loved every minute. I was there with my dear friends from Dahlonega, GA who drove up to meet me at the Nashville Airport.  We stayed overnight and visited the Elders Ball quite by chance. Was Jim Unger the magnificent fiddle player that night?... the absolutely hysterical guy on the left who made everyone laugh at his antics... the very talented & endearing character... if this is the person I remember well, I'd like to pass on my sincere condolences to his family... May God Rest His Soul.

Ray and I want to thank you for a great time on Thursday evening at the Elders Ball.  The music and singing were wonderful, and it was really good to see so many of our friends there again this year.  We made some new friends, too.

We hope to see all of you again soon.

Sincerely,
Wanelle Collins & Ray Knighton

I think this is one of the greatest events that happens in Nashville . To be able to see and hear in person musicians and singers that made country music is so exciting. Keep up the good work.

Ray and I appreciate you having us on your show so much.  It was a special honor for us, and we really enjoyed having musicians of that caliber playing with us.   We had a good time and hope to see you all again soon.

We had a great time at the Elders Ball and when road dates slow down Fred Newell, Danny Davis, Greg Cole and Myself (LD) look forward to coming out again! Keep up the great "COUNTRY MUSIC" my Music Friends! The Elders Ball is one place we or anyone can hear what gave Nashville the name, " Music City".

The highlight of today was the entertainment we enjoyed from 6:00PM until nearly 11:00. The nice folks running the RV-Park told us about an event happening next door to the RV-Park. That special event is called the "Elders Ball". The "Nashville Nightlife" an auditorium/restaurant located at 2620 Music Valley Drive opens their doors to local musicians who drop by with their instruments and have fun jamming together. These professional musicians absolutely love to jam with one another. Most, if not all, of these professional musicians tour with the stars as well as play local gigs and in the myriad recording studios. The audience was also full of "top-vocalist" from house bands around the area. The vocal talent was as awesome as the instrumental assemblage.

To cap off a night we didn't think could get any better, in walks Billy Dean an established country music star. The women squealed with Billy just standing on stage. His voice could open any door. The instrumentalists really enjoyed performing with him. Several other vocalists joined him on stage to perform certain songs.

What we enjoyed tonight was better than some of those high priced concerts. If you plan to visit Nashville you might want to check on the "Elders Ball" and see when they are next scheduled to get together. Remember that this is just a loose knit group---no membership or anything---that gets together once every few months to jam and see each other and they keep in touch via that e-mail address. It is going to be hard to top the entertainment provided by the musicians at the "Elders Ball."

It was so good to see you guys Thursday night.  You are singing (and playing) great!  The whole band was terrific.  I, for one, really appreciate all the work you do to keep this in motion...what a great idea you had in starting the Elders Ball.  I will see you next time for sure...I'm hooked, now that I've attended one. Thank you!

Warm regards,
Eddie Canaday

What an awesome night.  I wouldn't miss one.  You guys who do the music month after month are just the BEST pickers Nashville ever saw. Keep up the good music.
